Plant Your Seeds For 2017

Plant your seeds for 2017

It’s a new year! A year that we can imagine and envision anything we want to happen. There are a lot of unknowns coming in the year ahead, but we do have agency over our small corner of the globe, and over our attitudes about how we want to live in this world. To that end, I am sowing some seeds this month that I hope will grow and blossom into something beautiful this year.

With the completion of the Valley Ayurveda house, I am intending to foster a spiritual community of seekers and learners who can support each other through the ups and downs of life this year. I am gathering allies and people of light to come and share their gifts with all those who care to partake of them, and I fully intend to better myself through my association with them. (As a side note, if you have a class or workshop you would like to offer, please contact me!).

I am committing to a yoga immersion program this year, and also starting a Ayurvedic mentorship alliance with someone I have admired for years. Whatever your interest, take active steps to be involved, learn more, and share what you know with others. I have always loved learning, and one of the joys of being an adult is that I can study and learn anything I want! We live in an amazing time, where we have access to any information we want- be it local (my yoga program), or distant (my Vancouver, BC mentor).

I want to expand my cooking palate this year, and am challenging myself to learn various diverse dishes and methods of cooking. This I WILL be sharing with you, through a connection with an out-of-this-world cook who is interested in teaching cooking classes for Valley Ayurveda. This is going to be so fun, and I am excited to see what will unfold.

Finally, I am intending to deepen my meditation practice. I have a goal which has been elusive year after year. I can see progress that I have made, but still I am far from my ideal practice. As the saying goes, “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end.”
