Ayurveda recommends working with the natural shifts that occur in the body during the change of seasons, and here at Valley Ayurveda we offer guided cleanses during the three major transition points throughout the year.

Spring Cleanse
late March/early April

As the cold, dry, rough days of Winter give way to the cool, wet,  dense and muddy days of Spring, we  work to eliminate the excess Vata that may have built up over the colder months and prepare for Kapha season. Just as the world around us begins to thaw and melt, the body is primed at this time of year to release built-up accumulations. Our Spring Cleanse includes a Kick-Off Session on Sunday afternoon, all of your supplies for the week, a Cleanse Workbook and a mid-week check-in/restorative yoga session to help keep you on track. We also offer an Optional Meal Plan where we do the cooking!  Click here for more details.

Summer Fast
late May/early June

By the end of Kapha season, our wet and muddy spring time, the body is ready to dry out and release any excess dampness or heaviness that may have accumulated during that time. To that end, our End-of-Spring Program is a guided 3-day “fast” (only fruit juices and/or broths). It begins with a Kick-Off Session on Thursday evening, supplies for the fast, a Workbook and a guided walking meditation at a local park each day. Our Optional Meal Plan will include freshly-juiced juices and homemade vegetarian broths. Click here for more details.

Autumn Liver Cleanse
late September/early October

After the long hot summer, the season of the Pitta dosha, it’s a good idea to release any excess heat  that may have accumulated in the body before transitioning fully into Autumn/Winter. The liver is one of the organs controlled by Pitta, and we approach this transition by gently detoxifying the liver and the blood through consumption of the bounteous greens that crowd the Farmer’s Markets in the fall, bitter herbs and freshly juiced fruits and vegetables. The week-long program includes a Kick-Off Session on Sunday afternoon, all of your supplies for the week, a Workbook and a mid-week check-in/restorative yoga session to help keep you on track.  Click here for more details.
